UPDATE: David Henry was ordered to serve three to six years in state prison for his guilty pleas to two counts of assaulting a corrections officer. Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco ordered that the prison time be added to the sentence he is currently serving.

An inmate from Indiana will be sentenced today for a case of assault at SCI Pine Grove.
Court documents say 58-year-old David Tyrone Henry will go before Indiana County President Judge Thomas Bianco today to be sentenced for two second-degree felony charges of aggravated assault on corrections officers for an incident on August 11th of 2020 when he threw scalding hot liquid on two corrections officers, according to Indiana County district attorney Robert Manzi. At the time, the corrections officers were removing items from his cell that he was not permitted to have.
Henry pleaded guilty to both charges on September 7th of this year. Henry has an extensive criminal history that goes back to the 1980’s. This includes a 1999 case where he pleaded guilty to charges of attempted criminal homicide and assault by a criminal. Since April of this year, he has been serving his time at SCI Phoenix in Montgomery County.
