Today will mark the end of an era for “Jukebox Saturday” as Tony Michaels will play the songs one more time before he retires.
Michaels, who is also the general manager of our affiliate station WHJB in Greensburg, is retiring from radio after years of hosting “Jukebox Saturday”. Michaels said that he is going to miss the fans of Jukebox Saturday the most.
Micahels started hosting Jukebox Saturdays in the early 80’s, and has seen the show evolve over the years from playing primarily oldies from the 60’s and 70’s to progressing to today’s playlist which goes into the MTV era. As Tony enters retirement, he says he has a lot of projects to work on, he wants to be with his new granddaughter, and he also wants to devote more time to songwriting.
Michaels wanted to thank the sponsors of the show through the years and the many fans of Jukebox Saturday for being loyal to the show.
Tony’s final edition of Jukebox Saturday starts at 10:00 this morning on WDAD 100.3 FM and AM 1450.
