Ben Roethlisberger sat out Steelers practice yesterday and his name appears on their injury list with two problems, his pectoral muscle and his bruised hip. Big Ben says the hip affected his ability to throw the football accurately Sunday against Green Bay, but he said he was not making excuses for his poor play.
He said the lower body is just as important as the arm is when throwing the football, and he his technique has not been good.
The QB says the team has to play better, and it starts with him.
Tackles Chuks Okorafor and Zach Banner were full participants on the first day of practices for Sunday’s game against the Broncos. Guard Kevin Dotson, cornerback Cam Sutton, and backup defensive tackle Carlos Davis sat out. Defensive end Cam Heyward, guard Trai Turner, backup guard Rashaad Coward, and wide receivers JuJu Smith-Schuster and Chase Claypool were limited.
Running back Anthony McFarland returned to practice for the first time since the preseason. He’s been on injured reserve with an undisclosed ailment. The Steelers have 21 days to activate him, put him on season-ending IR, or release him.
For the Broncos, quarterback Teddy Bridgewater could return to practice today as he navigates through concussion protocol.
