A woman charged with aggravated assault by vehicle will be in court today for her preliminary hearing.
24-year-old Kristen Nicole Sulkosky of Homer City is also facing charges of accidents involving death or personal injury and with driving under the influence in connection with an incident on August 7th where she and her boyfriend were leaving a wedding reception in a GMC Sierra when she allegedly hit a nine-year-old girl with the truck. The child was flown from the scene to Children’s after the accident.
State troopers were able to find Sulkosky in the 100 block of Tearing Run Road and when they tried to give her a breathalyzer test, she refused. Her preliminary hearing is set for 9:15 AM.
Also due for a preliminary hearing today is 29-year-old Charles Ross of Homer City, who faces charges of public drunkenness, disorderly conduct-engaging in fighting, resisting arrest and aggravated assault in connection with an incident on August 7th on Old William Penn Highway where police say he was behaving erratically. When police approached him, he refused to identify himself and nearly got himself hit by a moving vehicle. When police intervened, he resisted arrest, and kicked a trooper in the head.
Ross has been in jail on $25,000 bail. His hearing before district judge Susanne Steffee is set for 8:45 this morning.
