Safety is a top priority for the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and one way of ensuring safety is by gathering input on traffic safety and driving behaviors in its annual Highway Safety Survey.
According to PennDOT, the survey takes approximately five minutes to complete and contains questions that pertain to seat belt usage, impaired driving, speeding, and distracted driving.
Out of 8,000 drivers who responded to last year’s survey, 91 percent said that they always wear a seat belt, 88 percent said they never drive impaired and 84 percent said they speed at least some of the time.
PennDOT Secretary Yassmin Gramian said in a statement the results from surveys “help gauge participants’ attitudes on highway safety, and potentially allows us to adjust safety activities so we can further reduce crashes and fatalities.”
Those interested in the survey can do so on PennDOT’s website. It will be open until August 23.
