The average cost of a gallon of gas continues to go up in Indiana County and across the state.
Triple A reports that the average cost of gas in Pennsylvania is now $3.13 a gallon, which is an increase of five cents from last week as the Colonial Pipeline was shut down due to a ransomware attack. The national average price also went up to $3.04 a gallon.
Indiana County’s average went up to $3.11 a gallon, which is tied with Cambria County with the lowest averages in the region. Armstrong and Clearfield Counties each have an average of $3.13 a gallon, while Westmoreland County has a $3.14 per gallon average. Jefferson has the highest average in the region with $3.17 a gallon.
Pike County on the northeastern side of the state has the highest average at $3.21 a gallon, while Snyder County in the center of the state has the lowest average at $3.07 a gallon.
Gas prices are wide ranging within the county. In Indiana Borough and White Township, the lowest gas price as of this morning is $3.09 a gallon at the Sheetz stations, Choice Gas Station in Indiana Borough, Martin’s grocery store and Sunoco Gas on Oakland Avenue. Keystone Gas Station on Old 119 North reports $3.15 a gallon, while the GetGo and Kwik Fill on Oakland Avenue has prices at $3.19 a gallon.
In Homer City and Center Township, the lowest price is $3.09 at Sheetz, while Kwik Fill has gas at $3.19. Gas prices in Blairsville and Clymer are $3.09 a gallon.
