On Wednesday, the White Township Supervisors voted to table an agreement between the township and Citizens’ Ambulance concerning the township’s contribution to the ambulance service.
Earlier this year, the township supervisors agreed to contribute $100,000 to ambulance service as part of their budget, and in March, approved a draft agreement that would be sent to Citizens’ for their review. Citizens’ provided their draft of the agreement to the township supervisors, but Eugene Gemmell moved for the agreement to be tabled and sent back to Citizens’ for further work. In the draft sent to Citizens’, either party could end the agreement at any time provided that 30 days notice be provided to the other side. In Citizens’ draft of the agreement, they insisted on a hard deadline of November 1st, but Gemmell said that they would not be able to make a decision on leaving the agreement by that date. Township Manager Milt Lady is optimistic that they are close to an agreement.
The agreement will be sent back to Citizens’ for further negotiation.
In other business, the Supervisors approved the first members of the new recreation advisory committee. The members are Dan Antonacci, Alphonse Borowski, Barb Hauge, Kim Caretti and Matthew Jackson. Supervisor Sandy Gillette said that the township also received several applications for a possible subcommittee for White’s Woods, but such a subcommittee doesn’t exist yet as the recreation advisory committee had yet to be formed. Gillette said that those applications will head to the members of the new committee.
The board also approved a three-year agreement with S&T Bank for the bank to keep the naming rights to the S&T Bank Arena at the White Township Recreation Complex.
