After the Penguins led, 6-0, after two periods, the New Jersey Devils mounted a comeback to within one goal in the third. However, a late goal by Sidney Crosby gave Pittsburgh the edge to win, 7-6.

Head Coach Mike Sullivan said after the game that his players knew that they did not perform well in the final period.
While it was an ugly win, Sullivan is thankful they were able to walk away with a win at all.
Defenseman Bryan Dumoulin said the defense will have to strengthen up on defense if they want to prevent another sizable comeback.
The Pens sit just one point shy of tying Washington and the New York Islanders for first place in the NHL East. Both have 62 points on the season.
They return to the ice on Thursday for game two against the Devils. Airtime on U92.5 FM and the U92 Sports Channel is 6 p.m. with puck drop to follow at 7 p.m.
