The Marion Center and Purchase Line school boards will both meet tonight.
Marion Center will hold a work session at which the board will review the ICTC budget, of which the district’s share will decrease by $9,021 to $691,926. Other items on the agenda include the purchase of two dishwashers with a total cost of more than $51,000; several educational agreements and personnel recommendations; and the first reading of a list of five district policies, including one regarding extracurricular activities by Home Education Students.
Purchase Line has not yet published an agenda for its voting meeting. Last week at its work session, the board discussed a lengthy list of teacher and staff personnel items, as well as coaches for the cross country, volleyball, and football teams.
Other items last week included outside educational agreements; the ICTC budget, of which Purchase Line’s share is $337,565; discussion of a proposal for a feasibility study of the high school roof ventilation system, air conditioning, and a possible cafeteria expansion; and a Pre-K outdoor classroom at the elementary school.
The Marion Center meeting will be held in-person and virtually. As there is limited seating, you must call the district office if you wish to reserve a seat, or you can pre-register to attend virtually by calling 397-5551, extension 5000. The Purchase Line meeting is virtual, and there is a Zoom link on the district website.
