Pennsylvania’s average cost of a gallon of gas is going down, as is Indiana County’s average.
Triple A reports that the statewide average cost for a gallon of gas is now $3.00 a gallon. Last week at this time, the average was $3.04 a gallon. It’s still higher than last month and last year, with gas prices at $2.93 a gallon last month, and $2.28 a gallon last year at this time, which saw a lack of demand due to the pandemic.
The national average is now $2.88 a gallon, which is also down from last week. In fact, it marks the first time the national average has gone down this month. The reason for the downward trend is due to growing stock levels, which went up slightly since Monday. Triple A says that if demand doesn’t spike and total domestic gas stocks of gas continue to increase, prices could continue to go down over the weekend.
Indiana County’s gas price average as of this morning is $3.06 a gallon. That ties it with Cambria County for the highest gas price average in the region. The lowest average in the region is in Armstrong County at $3.00 a gallon. Clearfield and Westmoreland Counties each have an average of $3.02 a gallon.
According to GasBuddy.com, gas prices in Indiana Borough and White Township are between $2.99 and $3.09 a gallon. Gas prices in Homer City, Blairsville, and Clymer are at $3.09 a gallon.
