While social media activity on the topic of “IUPatty’s” has been light, Indiana Borough Police are saying they are ready for any unsanctioned celebrations around campus this weekend.
In a notice posted on Indiana Borough’s Facebook page, police say that with the warm and pleasant weather expected this weekend, Indiana Borough may see an increase in activity connected with “IUPatty’s” celebrations. At the borough council meeting earlier this week, Chief Justin Schawl said that they are prepared for any eventuality, but the pandemic brings its own set of problems.
The announcement this morning on social media reminded everyone to continue to follow Covid-19 protocols, including wearing a face mask, practice social distancing and practice good hygiene. Police also say that certain activities will not be tolerated this weekend, including public drunkenness, disorderly gatherings, excessive noise, open containers, public urination and disorderly conduct among others.
Police warn that if anyone tries to do anything illegal this weekend, they can expect to meet members of the borough police department.
