Right fielder Gregory Polanco says reports that he fractured his wrist playing winter ball were incorrect, and he is fine.
Polanco called the injury “a little flare on the bone,” and after some rest, he resumed the season in January. The Pirates had reported that Polanco had a “small nondisplaced fracture of the triquetrum bone,” based on reports from medical officials in the Dominican Republic.
The Pirates open Grapefruit League play on Sunday in Sarasota against the Orioles. Airtime will be 1:00 on WCCS.
