Panthers sophomore forward Justin Champegnie was selected for the 2021 Jersey Mike’s Naismith Trophy Midseason Team earlier this week.
Champegnie was chosen to represent the ACC by the Atlanta Tipoff Club, and joining him are Jose Alvarado (Georgia Tech) and Carlik Jones (Louisville).
Champegnie has tallied six double-doubles this season and is one of three players in the NCAA averaging better than 18 points and 10 rebounds per game. He also leads the ACC in scoring (19.2 ppg.) and rebounding (12.0 rpg.).
The Panthers were supposed to play today against Louisville, however, due to COVID-19 issues in the Louisville locker room, that game was postponed earlier this week.
