Those who played the Mega Millions lottery game received some good news and bad news yesterday. The bad news was that they didn’t win the more than 350 million jackpot. The good news was that no one else won either.
No one matched all six numbers selected in the Mega Millions lottery draw last night. Those numbers were 1-31-35-48-62 and the Megaball was 19. This means that for the next jackpot drawing, which is on New Year’s Day, the jackpot rolls over to an estimated $401 million annuity with a $305.4 million cash option.
Meanwhile, the other popular multi-state lottery game, Powerball, will have its drawing tonight and it’s been a while since that jackpot has been hit as well. The jackpot is an estimated $363 million annuity with a cash option of $279.2 million.
By the way, the odds of winning the Mega Millions or the Powerball are 1 in around 300 million for each game.
