President Donald Trump talked about recent social unrest and the importance of the upcoming general election at his campaign stop in Latrobe Thursday night.
A crowd estimated as high as 15,000 people were on hand for President Trump’s campaign stop. Some were in the L.J. Aviation hangar inside Arnold Palmer Regional Airport where the president was speaking and many others packed the streets outside the airport watching on screens set up for the overflow crowd. During his near two hour speech, the President touched on several differences between himself and his opponent, Democractic candidate Joe Biden, including their differing stands on the recent violent protests across the country.
President Trump said that Biden would “surrender” American jobs to China and Democrats would raise taxes and take away firearms. He also brought up the enthusiasm received during the 2016 election cycle, and said he has more supporters this time. He added if it weren’t for the Coronavirus, he wouldn’t need to hold all his rallies because of all the support he’s getting now.
Trump also doubled down on the importance of the upcoming general election.
Biden supporters were also seen in Latrobe ahead of President Trump’s visit as they stood along Route 30 with signs saying “Black Lives Matter”, “Vote Blue” and other slogans.
