In Indiana County Court today, President Judge William Martin will conduct Plea Court for 32-year-old Andrew Rankin, who is charged with felony possession with intent to deliver and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
Rankin was found guilty last week of the same two charges in a jury trial for another drug case from June of last year. In that case, he sold a mix of heroin and fentanyl to a police informant.
He pleaded guilty in February for the charges he is facing today, from July of last year, but as in the earlier case he withdrew those pleas and now will re-plead.
Rankin has had numerous drug cases in Indiana County Court since 2007, including serving prison time for guilty pleas to felony drug offenses in 2018.
Also in County Court today, Judge Michael Clark will conduct six non-jury trials for defendants charged with contempt for violation of court orders.
