The eyes of the political world will focus on nearby Latrobe as President Donald Trump will make a campaign stop today at Arnold Palmer Regional Airport.
The campaign event comes just days after former Vice President Joe Biden made a campaign appearance in Pittsburgh. Tonight’s event is expected to attract more than 2000 people to the airport. The event starts at 7:00, with the doors opening at 4:00.
While the President’s visit is not expected to create problems for scheduled commercial flights out of the airport, Westmoreland County Airport Authority executive director Gabe Monzo is asking those who are flying out of the airport to arrive early. About 400 parking spaces closest to the airport terminal will be reserved for passengers on Spirit Airlines and for those patronizing the restaurant at the airport.
The rally is a ticketed event, but free tickets can be requested through the Trump campaign website. Those getting tickets will also agree to a waiver indicating that attendees assume all risks associated with potential exposure to Covid-19 at the event, along with releasing the Trump campaign, the airport, volunteers and staffers from any liability.
