State police were busy with DUI arrests in the month of August.
State troopers say that members of the Troop A Indiana Patrol Unit responded to or initiated 32 DUI-related investigations in August. Eight of those investigations were DUI-related crashes. Of those crashes, three involved alcohol, three others involved drugs, and the remaining two were a combination of drugs and alcohol.
Troopers say 10 of their investigations were alcohol related, while the number of drug-related investigations doubled that to 20. Only two cases were a combination of drugs and alcohol.
Police also initiated 646 traffic stops, issued 556 tickets and handed out 198 written warnings. Troopers also assisted 31 motorists and conducted 64 commercial motor vehicle inspections. They also had 308 patrol checks of locations where residents have reported concerns of traffic violations, drug activity, suspicious vehicles or persons and other similar calls.
