With positive coronavirus test results nearing five percent, Lock Haven University has suspended in-person classes for two weeks, starting today.
From Monday afternoon to yesterday morning, the number of positive cases climbed from 4.0 percent to 4.9, according to the school. Lock Haven had said prior to the start of the semester that a five percent positivity rate among asymptomatic students would trigger a halt to in-person classes.
Lock Haven students have the option to return home or stay in their residence halls, and the dining hall will provide take-out meals only. The library will be pick-up only and all other campus facilities will close.
Bloomsburg University last week announced the suspension of in-person classes until at least October.
Each of the schools in the State System are operating under their own plans for the fall semester. IUP, for the most part, is holding in-person classes for freshmen and distance learning for all others.
