Indiana Borough Police are investigating a stabbing that happened early yesterday. Police were summoned to the Indiana Regional Medical Center Emergency Room for a man with “injuries caused by a knife blade” after an altercation between two men, ages 23 and 20, in the 800 block of Wayne Avenue. The men involved and witnesses to the fight have been identified and police say there is no threat to public safety. They are working with the District Attorney’s office and the investigation remains open.
Police are also investigating a hit-and-run accident that took place at 5:34 PM Saturday in the 1100 block of Church Street. A stopped vehicle was backed into by a black Toyota Camry which fled the scene. The driver had black hair and was wearing a gray t-shirt. Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 349-2121.
A Northern Cambria woman has been charged with retail theft after being caught trying to leave the White Township Walmart store Thursday afternoon with about $37 worth of cosmetics she’d not paid for. State police identify the suspect as 57-year-old Brenda Wilcox, who was stopped and detained by Walmart personnel until police arrived.
Police are investigating an assault in Young Township. A 19-year-old Rural Valley woman was allegedly attacked and strangled on August 18th by a 21-year-old man from Clune at a home along Second Street. The suspect has not been publicly identified.
