The average price for a regular gallon of gas in Indiana County rose significantly over the past week. This rise brought a 13 cent price differential than last week, an 8.8 cent increase since last month, and 19 cent decrease since last year. In addition to Indiana County, the statewide average of gas prices rose 7 and a half cents since last week.
The county average now sits at $2.58 per gallon, joining neighboring counties Armstrong and Jefferson averaging more than $2.57 per gallon. According to GasBuddy.com, each reported gas stations in Indiana, Homer City and Blairsville charge for an average of $2.59 for a regular gallon of gas. Lucernemines stations saw a slight up-tick in average prices, but still remain the lowest in the area with a $2.44 average price tag.
Cambria and Westmoreland Counties range in prices of $2.51 to $2.52, and Clearfield County checks in with a $2.57 price tag.
Carbon County has the lowest average in the state at $2.39 per gallon.
