Last night’s thunderstorms struck all over Indiana County, but for the second night in a row, the southern portion of the county was particularly hard-hit.
Starting at 8:21 PM, Indiana County 911 dispatched firefighters 26 times, all but one of them for storm-related damage. The other was an accident on Route 286 in Center Township right at the height of the storms, so even that might have been weather-related.
Trees and utility lines were down across the county, and there are reports of damage to homes as well.
REA Energy reported that as of 4 AM today, there were still power outages affecting 157 customers, with power restored to 112 others. Penelec had 66 customers still without power.
