The PA Department of Human Services announced the creation of flexibilities in child care options yesterday. These flexibilities come as temporary suspensions on some regulatory policies on school-age child care in order to give families options on learning pods and assistance to families struggling financially from the COVID-19 pandemic.
The creation of these flexibilities are aimed to help promote healthy habits created by the Department of Health, and to nurture educational needs of Pennsylvania children, as well as their mental, physical, social and emotional health.
Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine says in a press release that ensuring students have everything they need to succeed in school “has never been a more important task on the back-to-school to-do list.”
