The Marion Center School board held a voting session Monday evening to vote on motions related to general school affairs, to the question of materials for at-home teaching and an update on live-streaming fall athletics due to COVID-19 restrictions.
One item discussed during the personnel section was the subject of whether or not faculty members will be reimbursed for the purchasing of certain items for working from home. Board president Greg Sacco says some situations are not feasible depending on where they live.
Regarding general school affairs, each motion presented passed unanimously among board members. Motions approved include the approval for the district volunteer lists, 2020-2021 bus stops, agreements with various agencies for services, and mask and extracurricular activities adhering to the district’s health and safety policy.
Lastly, the board discussed potentially utilizing security cameras within the gymnasium to stream indoor athletics, such as volleyball. The board will continue to look into this idea. Meanwhile, football streams are still up in the air due to connectivity issues at the stadium.
