Over the past week and a half, the average cost of a regular gallon of gas decreased in Indiana County, but the statewide average remained the same.
Pennsylvania’s statewide average is still $2.43 per gallon, which is 1.2 cents lower than yesterday’s average, 1.3 cents lower than last month, and a whopping 31.3 cents lower than last year. The nationwide average is $2.18 a gallon. This is a one cent increase since August 10, and a 41.8 cent decrease from the nationwide average last year.
Indiana County’s average lowered to $2.44 per gallon, as local gas stations range from $2.29 per gallon to $2.49 per gallon. Burrell Township, Clymer and Blairsville gas stations are charging $2.49 per gallon each, with Homer City stations checking in $2.48 per gallon as of this morning. Lastly, Lucerne Mines stations are charging the lowest per gallon at $2.29.
In neighboring counties, Jefferson averages the biggest cost per gallon with a $2.49 price tag. Cambria County lines up next averaging $2.48 per gallon. Clearfield and Armstrong counties match averages with $2.47 per gallon. And Westmoreland County averages the least amount with $2.45 per gallon.
For the state, Northampton County has the lowest average at $2.29 per gallon, while Pike County enters today with an average of $2.52 per gallon.
