There’s a busy schedule today in Indiana County Court, with more than three dozen cases coming before the bench. All but six of them are sentencing proceedings for driving under the influence and related offenses, and most of those involve the defendant pleading guilty and being sentenced at the same time.
The remaining cases are sentencings for guilty pleas to a variety of crimes.
40-year-old Keith Habel of Ford City will have a Plea Court appearance to answer charged of simple assault, harassment, and disorderly conduct. He led state police on a high-speed chase that began in Dixonville last February and ended thirty-five miles later in Clearfield County when his tires were blown on a spike strip, he kept going and burned them up, and the vehicle caught on fire. Police then found a warrant on him issued by Clymer Police for the assault for which he’ll be sentenced today. He will also plead and be sentenced for DUI and 34 other traffic offenses for the pursuit in February.
27-year-old Carl DeWayne McIntire of New Florence will be sentenced for failure to register as a sex offender after he missed his deadline for his annual Megan’s Law requirement and police had to track him down. Because of that failure to register, he will also be resentenced for the original crime, statutory sexual assault of a young victim and corruption of minors.
22-year-old Bradley Gable of Gibsonia, Allegheny County, will be sentenced for felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance. Indiana Borough Police seized more than two pounds of marijuana from him in April of last year.
Auriahna Price of Indiana will be sentenced for a guilty plea to felony criminal trespass and in a separate case for possession of drug paraphernalia.
