Indiana Regional Medical Center has announced that visitors will be allowed back into the hospital under a new set of guidelines released this morning.
Effective today, a patient admitted to IRMC will be permitted one visitor a day to the hospital from Noon to 7:00 PM Mondays through Fridays and Noon to 3:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays. The visitor must enter the hospital through the main entrance screening station, and pass a health screening before they are allowed in. If they have a fever, cough or signs of illness, they will not be allowed in. Visitors also must wear a face mask. Visitors under the age of 16 will not be allowed.
For new and laboring mothers, one support person is allowed and they must be the only person through the course of admission. For pediatric patients, one visitor is permitted in the pediatric unit and they must be parents, guardians or family care partners.
No visitors will be allowed in rooms of patients that have tested positive for Covid-19 or who are under investigation for Covid-19.
IRMC is still encouraging patients to take advantage of the free WiFi in all hospital locations and use Skype, FaceTime or similar apps to stay connected to their loved ones.
