The annual Pennsylvania Farm Show will go on, but in a virtual format.
While there will be no in-person competitions or events due to Covid-19, PA’s Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding announced that the show will be held in a virtual format, with the theme of Cultivating Tomorrow. Redding said that the show will continue to highlight agricultural awareness, education, and literacy.
Virtual events related to the farm show will focus on education and awareness for both the agriculture industry and the general public. While details on how the competitive ag events will be held virtually have not yet been released, farm show officials say the events will not require the purchase of an animal. More details on the events will be released over the next few weeks.
The virtual event will still be held in its traditional time slot, from January 9th to the 16th. The show is known as the largest indoor agriculture expo under one roof in the United States. Under normal circumstances, the show features nearly 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits, and 300 commercial exhibits.
