At Monday night’s meeting, the Indiana School Board approved a three-pronged approach to student education at the different grade levels in the district by an 8-0 vote.
The plan will have kindergarten through fifth grade students attend their schools in-person for five days a week. Sixth grade students will have four days of in-person instruction and a fifth day will be spent with online learning. Students in grades seven through twelve will go to the “hybrid” approach, with half of the student body attending in-person on Monday and Tuesday and the other half on Thursday and Friday. Wednesday would be used as an online learning day for all of the upper class students.
Superintendent Mike Vuckovich said that the reason for the change in sixth graders was due to staffing issues.
The entire plan is on the district website, www.iasd.cc
