The Pennsylvania State Police in Indiana released DUI statistics for August 1 through 16 on Monday morning.
Since August 1, members of the Troop A, Indiana Patrol Unit have responded to or initiated a total of 21 driving while under the influence (DUI) investigations, five of which were DUI-related crashes. Of those five DUI-related crashes, three involved motorists suspected of being under the influence of drugs and two involved motorists suspected of being under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol.
An additional 11 motorists were suspected of being under the influence of drugs, and an additional five motorists were suspected of being under the influence of alcohol only.
The unit also reported 384 traffic stops, issued 337 traffic citations and issued 119 written warnings.
During this same timeframe, members of the Indiana Station also conducted 166 domestic security checks of schools, houses of worship, and critical infrastructure sites, and 135 patrol checks of locations where residents have reported concerns about traffic violations, drug activity, suspicious persons/vehicles, etc.
