No one was hurt in a crash on Friday on Route 422 in Armstrong Township. State police say that around 9:25 AM, Robert Beer of Mayport was driving west on 422 just north of Trim Tree Road and negotiating a slight left curve in the road when a tire on his International Harvester failed and came off of the wheel. The tractor came to rest safely in the westbound travel lane. PennDOT assisted at the scene.
State police arrested two people in connection with a case of harassment in Brush Valley Township on August 2nd. Police say around 4:30 in the afternoon that day, they were called out to a location on Altimus Road for a fight between a 43-year-old man and 38-year-old woman, both from Homer City. Non-traffic citations were filed against both people through District Court in Homer City.
Two people were hurt in an assault case in White Township. State police say this happened July 28th as they were called out to a location on Briarwood and found an un-named man and woman, both age 82, with fresh injuries. Police charged 49-year-old Sean Carnahan of Indiana with assault with bodily injury and he was taken to Indiana County Jail for arraignment. He is free on $25,000 cash bail and will have a preliminary hearing on Tuesday.
State police are looking for someone who tried to use counterfeit money during a transaction at an Indiana grocery store. Troopers say that at 8:36 PM on July 26th, an unidentified man approached a cash register in the store and tried to buy items using a counterfeit $100 bill. The clerk at the register recognized the bill as a phony one, so the man completed another transaction at a self-checkout register and left the store.
