Gas price averages went up in Pennsylvania and in Indiana County.
The average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania is now $2.43 a gallon, up two cents from last week, but down a penny from last month and down 41 cents from last year at this time. The nationwide average has held steady at $2.17 a gallon, due to a drop in demand.
Indiana County’s average jumped two cents to $2.47 a gallon. Many gas stations in Indiana Borough, White Township and Clymer are offering gas at $2.49 a gallon, while others are offering a $2.45 a gallon price. Homer City’s gas prices as of this morning are at $2.45 a gallon. Gas prices in Burrell Township and in downtown Blairsville check in at $2.48 a gallon.
In the region, both Armstrong and Westmoreland County average gas prices are at $2.45 a gallon. Clearfield County’s average is at $2.46 a gallon as of this morning, and Jefferson and Cambria Counties tied for the highest average price in the region at $2.47 a gallon.
For the state, Wyoming County currently has the lowest gas price average at $2.31 a gallon, while Warren, Forest and Potter counties tied with the highest average at $2.49 a gallon.
