At Tuesday night’s meeting, Indiana Borough Council approved where they would use some money from the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
The borough will receive $87,437 in CDBG-CV grant money through the CARES act. $8,837 of that will go to the county for administrative purposes, and the remaining $78,600 will go towards Covid-19 Wastewater surveillance and for food bank and food distribution projects that qualify under the DCED regulations.
In other business, an ordinance for the borough that would be the same as Governor Wolf’s executive orders regarding Covid-19 and public safety measures was brought up for discussion. Borough Council President Peter Broad said that the ordinance is in its draft stage right now.
The board also approved sewer replacement projects for South 5th and South 13th streets to Dave Roman Excavating for $306,600.
