Indiana County fire crews were busy yesterday with several calls related to trees and utility lines.
The first incident was reported at 9:10 on Second Avenue in Conemaugh Township for a report of utility lines down. That was handled by Tunnelton fire department. At 12:42, Glen Campbell fire department was dispatched for a tree down on Glenwood Avenue. They would be called out again for lines down causing a fire in Montgomery Township at 2:10 PM. About three and a half hours later, Glen Campbell fire crews were called out yet again to Porterfield Road in Banks Township as a tree fell on some utility lines, setting the tree on fire.
Commodore fire department would be called out at 8:00 PM for a tree branch blocking Sebring Road in Montgomery Township, and about an hour later, they were back out for a tree down on wires on Hog Hollow Lane in Green Township.
Non-utility line or tree-related calls yesterday included a search detail that Dayton Fire Department was called out for in West Mahoning Township at 1:07 PM, and an automatic fire alarm activation on School Street in Indiana at 6:18 PM.
