State police have charged an Indiana man with assault in an incident last Sunday in Center Township.
Police say that they were called out to a home on Old Route 119 South for a domestic assault in progress. When they got there, police found 19-year-old Joshua Thomas with an open knife and he was threatening a 19-year-old woman from Homer City and her family members. He also threatened to hurt any of the responding officers. Thomas also got into a physical altercation with the 19-year-old woman, and the victim suffered some injuries. Thomas was placed in custody and was charged with attempted aggravated assault, simple assault, terroristic threats and disorderly conduct.
Thomas is now in Indiana County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, and a preliminary hearing is set for August 11th.
