Today is the last day for people to help a local man get a song into the finals for a national competition.
Randy Degenkolb, a host that’s part of WDAD’s This Sunday Morning and of the county Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts office, entered his song “Stone of a Veteran’s Grave” into a contest for consideration by well-known singing groups. One part of the competition is how much buzz the song can generate on social media. For the past two days, Degenkolb has racked up 120 likes for the song on Youtube along with 41 subscribers, and today is the last day of that tally. The video entered in the contest includes a brief explanation of the song and a shortened acoustic version of the song. A full video, professionally done when the song was released locally last year, will also be sent to the judges.
