Seven fire companies were called out last night for a brush fire in Conemaugh Township.
The fire was reported on Foster Road near the border of Indiana and Westmoreland Counties at 7:00 PM Saltsburg, Iselin, Tunnelton, Bell Township, Slickville, Washington and Kiski Township fire departments were called at the time, along with Lifestat ambulance. No details are available on how the fire started or how much property was affected.
A brush fire was reported earlier in the day, on Mulligan Hill Road in West Wheatfield Township. Bolivar Fire department was called out for that brush fire.
The brush fires yesterday bring the total for the year so far to 47.
A debris fire was also reported yesterday. Indiana County 911 reported the debris fire on Wrigden Run Road in Rayne Township at 5 PM. Marion Center fire department was called out for that incident.
And the Indiana Fire Association was called out for a transformer fire on Wayne Avenue in White Township at 4:50 this morning.
