Several people are scheduled for sentencing hearings today in Indiana County Court. They include a man who was on the State Police’s “Five Most Wanted” list for theft charges.
40-year-old Robert Carl Orr of Apollo is due before Judge Thomas Bianco today for a guilty plea to a charge of retail theft. The charge goes back to an incident on April 30th of 2019 in Indiana . Orr pleaded guilty back on May 20th.
Two sentencing hearings will be held today for a Clymer man for drug-related crimes. Court documents show that 44-year-old Michael Richard Shirley pleaded guilty to a charge of possession of a small amount of marijuana on June 4th. This was in connection with an incident in Clymer where police found marijuana and other drug-related items on December 19th of last year, including a small amount of methamphetamine that was found in Shirley’s bedroom. Charges of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia were not prosecuted. He will also be sentenced for a guilty plea to corruption of minors in a case on October 27th of 2019. In that case, he also faced charges of possession of a controlled substance and a traffic-related violation.
Also due for four hearings today is 19-year-old Ian Cordale Buterbaugh of Indiana. One case goes back to January 20th where he was charged with criminal trespass, burglary, theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property and criminal use of a communication. He eventually pleaded guilty to criminal trespass related to the break-in along Willow Avenue in Clymer. In the other cases, he pleaded guilty to counts of DUI, possession of a controlled substance and theft by unlawful taking.
