The average cost of a gallon of gas in Pennsylvania went up slightly, but it went down slightly in Indiana County.
Triple-A Mid-Atlantic reports that Pennsylvania’s state-wide gas price average is $2.44 a gallon, which is a penny higher than it was last week at this time. It’s still 13 cents higher than last month, and it’s 49 cents lower than last year at this time. The Mid-Atlantic and Northeast regions saw a drop in inventory levels by nearly three million barrels, but the 72.3 million barrel supply is still considered “healthy” for the time of year. Stocks could decrease later this week due to an unplanned shutdown at a Phillips 66 refinery in Linden, New Jersey at the end of last week.
Indiana County’s average cost is now $2.47 a gallon, which is a two-cent decrease from last week at this time. In Indiana Borough and White Township, gas prices are at $2.49 a gallon. Prices in Homer City and Blairsville are a penny cheaper at $2.48 a gallon, and Clymer’s gas prices are hovering at $2.45 a gallon.
Among the surrounding counties, the lowest average is Armstrong County at $2.44 a gallon, followed by Westmoreland County with $2.45 a gallon. Jefferson County’s average gas price is $2.48 a gallon, while Clearfield and Cambria Counties have gas price averages of $2.49 a gallon.
