A man accused of assaulting a woman and stealing her car in Green Township last December was scheduled to have a plea court hearing today, but that hearing has been continued.
Police say that on December 15, 2019, 32-year-old Matthew Boyd Brilhart of Northern Cambria is facing first-degree felony charges after reports say he stole a car at a home along Palm Road in Green Township. A woman told police that a barefoot man shoved her and stole her car after she cleaned snow off the top of her car. Reports say that during the investigation, Brilhart was supposed to be caring for two children, but failed after he took them out in extreme temperatures without proper attire.
Additionally, Brilhart is facing third-degree felony charges for endangering the welfare of children and several misdemeanors for simple assault and recklessly endangering another person. He is scheduled to appear in Indiana Country District Court at 9 a.m.
Also on the plea court docket is a case involving 29-year-old Jacob Matthew Bloomberg who faces multiple misdemeanor charges for drug charges, making , repairing or selling offensive weapons, simple assault and recklessly endangering a person. He is also scheduled to appear at 9:30
Lastly, 19-year-old James Christopher Potts will answer to felony charges of endangering the welfare of animals, and misdemeanors for terroristic threats and simple assault. He is scheduled to appear at 10 a.m.
