Pennsylvania State Police in Indiana have released additional information regarding a head-on collision that occurred along the Route 286 Highway in Conemaugh Township on Tuesday.
Reports say that shortly after 9:40 a.m., 53-year-old Richard Stineman of Coral attempted to make a left turn when a deer walked onto the road. Stineman attempted to avoid hitting the deer by swerving, which caused his 2009 Ford Escape to drive off the road and crash head-on into a tree.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene, Lifestat Ambulance Service was called to life-flight Stineman to Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, where it was said that he suffered a head injury as well as other minor injuries.
Stineman was charged with driving onto roadways laned for traffic and his condition is unknown at this time.
