Westmoreland County Coroner Ken Bacha has identified the Blairsville woman who was killed in a two-vehicle crash Saturday morning in Westmoreland County.
Bacha said that 23-year-old Brittany C. Lash of Blairsville was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 8:30 Am on July 4th. Reports say at 7:34 AM, Lash was driving her Chevy Blazer East on Pizza Barn Road, and when she got to the intersection with Route 217, she collided with a Ford F-150 pickup truck that was driven by an un-named 33-year-old man from Latrobe. Lash was not wearing a seat belt and she was thrown from her vehicle.
Lash’s death was ruled accidental due to blunt force injuries to her head, torso and extremities. Blairsville and Black Lick fire departments from Indiana County were called in to assist State Police from the Kiski Barracks on-scene. Funeral arrangements will be through the Shoemaker Funeral Home in Blairsville.
