As we head into the Independence Day Weekend, the state is seeing a spike in Covid-19 cases.
As of noon yesterday, the PA Department of Health is reporting 86,205 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the state. Combined with a 2,356 probable cases, that means the statewide total is now 88,561. Pennsylvania is also reporting 715,403 negative tests and a 78% recovery rate.
On Friday, Governor Tom Wolf issued a reminder concerning the mask order that was signed by PA Health Secretary Dr. Rachel Levine on Wednesday that masks are mandatory when leaving home. In his brief statement, Governor Wolf said that even though this is a holiday weekend, “The virus is not gone, and mask-wearing is a required mitigation effort that we know works to stop the spread.”
As of Noon on Friday, Indiana County had 114 cases of Coronavirus, with 105 cases confirmed.
