Dry conditions are contributing to brush fires in our area as two were reported over the last 24 hours.
Both brush fires were reported Thursday evening. The first was at 9:36 PM at a location on Burrell Street in Burrell Township. That brought out Black Lick, Homer City and Coral-Graceton firefighters.
At 11:34 last night, Saltsburg fire department was called into assist fire crews in Westmoreland County with another brush fire on Ridge Road near Slickville in Salem Township.
The two fires bring the total for the year to 43 brush fires.
