ARMSTRONG TOWNSHIP
State police have issued reports on two accidents, one of which injured a motorcycle operator in Armstrong Township.
Police say 58-year-old James Herman of Bolivar suffered suspected serious injuries Sunday evening when his westbound Harley Davidson went through the intersection of West Pike and the Route 422 ramp, hitting a curb and careening into the eastbound lane. Herman, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and landed on the pavement.
Herman suffered a head injury and was flown from the scene to Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Police say he is suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.
MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP
A Hillsdale woman escaped injury in a single-vehicle crash on Route 286 in Montgomery Township on Monday evening. State police say 66-year-old Patricia Horvath lost control of her car on left curve near Sebring Road, crashing into a utility pole.
