First Commonwealth Bank is one of 12 financial institutions to receive the 2020 Designation of Savings Excellence award from the Consumer Federation of America.
In a news release, First Commonwealth Bank was selected from over 200 banks and credit unions across the United States that took part in America Saves Week, which was February 23rd to the 29th. During that week, First Commonwealth reported that they had over 21,000 customers deposit over $1.3 million and 387 new savings accounts were opened. Nationwide, the 12 banks and credit unions encouraged nearly 125,000 people to deposit close to $364 million into savings accounts.
This marks the second award First Commonwealth has received in about a month, as the institution also received “World’s Best Bank” honors from Forbes Magazine for the second consecutive year in June.
First Commonwealth Bank, with its home offices in Indiana County, operates 147 community banking offices in 28 counties in Western PA and Ohio.
