Firefighters are warning people about the dangers of fireworks as we get closer to the Fourth of July.
While the weather has been nice, we have not had a lot of rain as of late, and that’s making the ground dry and prime for a possible fire from fireworks and sparklers. Ron Moreau of the Indiana Fire Association said that this time of year is traditionally a busy one for firefighters on a local and national level.
Moreau says that people people looking to use consumer-grade fireworks should be careful and do their research with the fireworks that they purchase.
He also advises that people should have a bucket of water or garden hose nearby and do not re-light a firework if it fails to fire.
