At their special board meeting on Monday night, the Indiana School Board gave conditional approval to their athletic and extra-curricular health and safety plan, but the plan for the rest of the district was tabled until their July meeting.
The motion was passed by a vote of 5-3 with Cinda Brode, Ute Lowery and Barb Barker voting against it. Those who supported the motion said they wanted to get some of the preliminary activities for fall sports and marching band underway. Brode said that the document was not complete, and needed more than just a few tweaks for it to be ready.
The board decided to table accepting the health and safety plan for the district until their meeting on July 13th. District Superintendent Michael Vukovich said they wanted to take their time with the district-wide plan.
In other business, the board approved re-hiring Greg Lezanic as the district’s athletic director.
