UPDATE: Indiana Borough Police have released more information on the shooting investigation on North 3rd Street in Indiana Borough on Tuesday afternoon.
Police say that at 4:10 PM, an unidentified victim reported being targeted by a person known to them who arrived by a vehicle at 10 North 3rd Street. The person in the vehicle then shot at the person from the roadway. Other witnesses in the area reported hearing gunshots and saw the vehicle leave the area immediately after the shots were fired.
Police say that there were people in the home at the time, but no one was injured by gunfire. The building was damaged by the shots.
Chief Justin Schawl said in the news release from Indiana Borough Police that they are not seeking assistance from the public. Borough police were assisted by State Police, IUP Police Department and Citizens Ambulance at the scene.
Police will continue their investigation and more information will be released as it becomes available.
WHAT WE PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:
Indiana Borough Police are investigating an incident of shots fired at a home in the “00” block of North Third Street at 4:10 this afternoon.
Police Chief Justin Schawl said that detectives are currently investigating the shooting at 10 North 3rd Street. Schawl said that the shooting may have been a drive-by.
Schawl said that he believed that there was no increased risk to the safety of Indiana Borough’s residents and that there were no gunshot-related injuries.
The “00” block on North 3rd Street was blocked off for police to investigate. Chief Schawl said that more information may be released later tonight.
