The Indiana County Solid Waste Authority has announced that normal curbside recycling will resume soon.
The Authority says that it will resume collecting glass bottles and jars along with cans on July 1st. The Authority had reduced its curbside recycling on April 13th to newspapers and to #1 and #2 plastics only in its effort to reduce the spread of Coronavirus. The Authority felt the less time that was spent sorting items like glass and cans, the better.
The Authority also says that you should not place potentially contaminated items out for curbside recycling if you or anyone in your home has been sick, tested positive for Coronavirus, or is quarantined due to suspected exposure. Those items should be disposed of in a sealed bag with the rest of your trash.
